Abstract

1450091 Strongrooms CHUBB & SON'S LOCK & SAFE CO Ltd 12 July 1974 [16 April 1973] 18139/73 Heading E1A A strongroom or security enclosure is provided with walls of re-inforced concrete incorporating polypropylene fibres; the steel reinforcements being in the form of horizontal layers of steel mesh interconnected by vertical coupling bars threaded therethrough. The steel mesh may be made of expanded metal with a diamond mesh and the coupling bars of square cross-section twisted into a helix. The fibres are of 12,000 denier and approximately 50 mm. long. For method of erection, ability to withstand shock-waves, percentages of fibre used and mix details the Specification should be referred to.
