Abstract

1448132 Mixing liquids BAXTER LABORATORIES INC 14 Dec 1973 [10 Jan 1973] 58184/73 Heading B1C [Also in Divisions G1 and G2] A photometric solution analyser for monitoring transmission of light through a reaction mixture including at least two reacting constituents comprises a power-driven rotor assembly 38, 36, 40, haying a plurality of sample analysis chambers enclosed between transparent walls 58 and a plurality of chambers 50, 52 adapted to retain liquid samples and reactants respectively when the rotor assembly is at. rest, and to release the liquid samples and reactants to the first mixing chamber 54, whence they are transferred through part 56 to the sample analysis chambers in the cuvette rotor 36 when the assembly is rotated; a stationary photometric assembly 62, 72, 70, 60 for detecting changes in the analysis chamber; and temperature adjusting means, which may take the form of a printed circuit, mounted on and rotatable with the rotor assembly. Each optical cell may be emptied by application of air pressure to force the cell contents through a syphon outlet (114).
