Abstract

1442072 Training projectiles MANUFACTURE DE MACHINES DU HAUTRHIN 6 May 1974 [9 May 1973 14 Dec 1973] 19881/74 Heading F3A A training projectile comprises a body 12 made of a material of low impact strength, e.g. sintered iron, the body having at least one rupture neck 18 so that on impact at a glancing angle the projectile fragments into pieces. A nose portion 16 is supported by a resilient pin 30. The projectile may carry a tracer charge (not shown) in a rear cavity. The projectile is secured in the mouth of a cartridge case by a radially inwardly directed flange (124), Fig. 8, not shown.
