Abstract
1339743 Seat guards for sanitary closets. R A S ROBERTSON 2 June 1971 [25 March 1970] 14413/70 Heading E1C A seat guard for a sanitary closet consists of a piece of fabric cut to approximately the shape of the closet seat 1 such that it overhangs both outer and inner peripheries of the seat, the overhanging edges being hemmed and elongated constraining members 2, 7 being threaded through the hems 3, 6 for stretching the fabric by drawing the hemmed edges under the seat to hold the seat guard in place. Where the seat is an elliptical annulus, the member 2 is an elasticated band the ends of which are joined at the back of the seat, and the member 7 is a resilient ring of hollow or solid plastic tubing. An elliptical annular seat guard as above may be similarly fitted to a C shaped seat, but a C shaped cover may also be fitted in which case the constraining members are joined end to end to form a single length starting as an elasticated band (2', Fig. 4, not shown) which passes around the outer periphery of the seat and around an end of the C to the inner periphery where it joins a piece of resilient plastic tubing (7'), the latter in turn being joined to a further elasticated band (2').
