Abstract
1335384 Longwall mining installations MAYOR & COULSON Ltd 19 April 1971 [16 April 1970] 18106/70 Heading E1F [Also in Division B8] In a longwall mining installation in which a mining machine 6A is supported on to move along the upper flanges 4A, 5A of the side frames 2A, 3A of a conveyer there is provided on the goaf side of the machine a shoe 10A which has an upwardly projecting guide 19 that is partially surrounded by a guidewayforming portion of a spill plate associated with the conveyer. Preferably the spill plate is secured to the goaf side 3A of the conveyer and may support and form the inner wall of a cable trough 15A located directly above said side frame 3A.
