Abstract

1330802 Adjustable chairs KUBO SHOTEN K K 8 March 1972 [26 March 1971] 10823/72 Heading A4J A chair comprises a seat member A mounted on a single pedestal B for sliding movement in the longitudinal direction of the chair and for rotation about an axis coaxial with the pedestal, the seat member being biased towards a predetermined position relative to the pedestal, i.e. the normal sitting position, by resilient members connected between the seat member and the pedestal. The seat member has fixed to the undersurface thereof a frame 2 formed with guide rails 2a, 2b in which roll wheels 3 provided on a support 1 mounted on the pedestal for rotation about a vertical axis through a bolt 13 and support plates 5, 7. The resilient members comprise cables C mounted between the frame 2 and the support 1 and cables C' mounted between the support 1 and lower support plate 5. The resilient members may be coil springs or cables of rubber and fibre or other elastic filaments.
