Abstract

1325635 Rope thimble LERBS-GERATEBAU GmbH J H LERBS SNR K LERBS and J H LERBS JNR [trading as LERBS-GERAEBAU GmbH & CO KG] 19 April 1971 [30 Jan 1970] 20655/71 Heading D1T A cast drop-shaped thimble with an elongate eye 5a therein is characterized in that the eye is nearer the larger than the smaller end of the thimble and the transverse cross-sectional area of the thimble material increases from each end of the eye towards the longitudinal centre 7-7 of the eye. The resulting eye 5 may have two parallel sides. Below the eye are flat triangular surfaces 3 that strengthen the thimble at that end. Fig. 3 shows how the internal surface of the eye 5 presents flat surfaces 8 and 8a.
