Abstract

1322378 Corona discharge device XEROX CORP 4 Aug 1970 [6 Aug 1969] 37539/70 Heading G2H A discharge electrode 12 is connected to a power source HV-1 by means of a spark gap 14, such that a corona discharge is produced for the electrode upon application of a potential from the source sufficient to effect arcing across the gap. Electrode 12 preferably has an earthed shield. The gap may be adjustable to vary the discharge threshold and charging rate.
