Abstract

1320120 Cleaning swimming pools ITT INDUSTRIES Inc 18 May 1972 [27 May 1971] 23439/72 Heading A4F A suction nozzle for use with a swimming pool vacuum cleaner comprises a plate 27 having a downwardly extending peripheral flange 28, and an elongated brush 36 pivotally mounted on the plate 27 so that as the nozzle is moved forwards and backwards over the floor of a swimming pool the brush 36 moves to and fro over a suction outlet 22 in the plate 27, coupled, in use of the nozzle, by a flexible hose to the pool vacuum cleaner. The to and fro movement of the brush 36 is guided by a plate 38 secured thereto and which slides on the plate 27. Auxiliary brushes 33, 34 are fixed at the ends of the plate 27. A pole (26) Fig. 1 (not shown) is pivotally connected to the nozzle for moving it over a swimming pool floor. In another embodiment the suction outlet (68) Fig.8 (not shown) is provided at one end of the nozzle; and a further embodiment comprises two pivoted brushes (54), (55) Fig.6 (not shown).
