Abstract

1320055 Rods for reinforced concrete J A IRIBAS SUAREZ DE OTERO 3 May 1971 [20 Feb 1971] 12658/71 Heading E1K A rod for reinforced concrete has a substantially circular cylindrical nucleus 1 on which are formed four longitudinal ribs 2, arranged at 90‹ intervals, and two diametrically opposed sets of transverse ribs 3, each set crossing one of two diametrically opposite ribs 2, the ribs 3 being of reducing crosssection in directions away from the associated ribs 2 and terminating flush with the surface of the nucleus just before reaching the position of the other two longitudinal ribs. The transverse ribs 3 are preferably inclined to the axis of the rod at between 34‹ and 53‹ and the ribs of the two sets are staggered. The rod may be twisted to produce a helical formation of ribs 2.
