Abstract

1315493 Valves MIDDAR AUTOMATION Ltd 14 Aug 1970 [16 June 1969] 30419/69 Heading F2V A valve for controlling the supply of gas to a rail point heater has a flexible insert 16 of a ferromagnetic closure member 12 urged by fluid pressure from an inlet 23 on to an upstanding end 14 of an outlet 17 to thereby close it. The valve is opened by energizing a coil 18a and is held open by the energization of a holding coil 18. The upper surface of the closure member in open position abuts a washer 13 on the base of a plug 15 which has a bore 24 communicating with bores 28, 29 in the closure member. When the holding coil is de-energized the valve member moves to closed position by the force produced by change of fluid flow from bore 28 to bore 29 and, depending on position, gravity.
