Abstract
1304596 Electric couplings AUSTIN TAYLOR ELECTRICAL Ltd 3 May 1971 [2 May 1970] 21193/70 Heading H2E [Also in Division H1] Connection to an insulated cable is formed by compressing a copper spiral 12 through the resilient insulation 11 to engage the core 10. The insulation seals the coils at the points of penetration so that the core remains unexposed to the atmosphere. The coil may interconnect two wires (Fig. 3). A metal sleeve 21 formed of strip metal may be compressed around the coil. This sleeve may be inserted into a socket, preferably the type which has a gripping screw to engage the flattened portion of the sleeve.
