Abstract

1303369 Coating apparatus KALLE AG 30 Dec 1970 [30 Dec 1969] 61772/70 Heading B2L [Also in Division D1] A coating apparatus comprises a roller located in a trough having a body with end walls 1 and side walls 2, an aperture 4 in the base extending substantially along the length of the base, a fan-shaped feed pipe 5 extending downwardly from the aperture 4 towards a supply inlet and an overflow gutter 6 surrounding the trough and having at least one discharge outlet 9 therein. A catch surface 10 may be provided downstream of the roller to receive excess coating material doctored from the web 13. A perforated filtering wall 11 is provided between the catch surface 10 and the discharge outlet 9.
