Abstract
1281831 Papermaking FELDMUHLE ANLAGEN UND PRODUKTIONS GmbH 15 July 1969 [15 July 1968] 35573/69 Heading D2A A paper-making machine in which the wire, in the forming zone, is inclined to the horizontal and forms one side wall of a trough to which pulp is supplied, is characterised in that each of the edges of the inclined portion of the wire travels through a tubular chamber 4 supplied with water. Each chamber may be subdivided at intervals along its length into separate compartments, to each of which the supply of water is independantly controllable. The pressure in the compartments are higher than the pressure of the pulp at the level of the compartment. The internal width of the chamber is preferably more than twice the possible deviation from the normal position of travel. The independant compartments may correspond with independant suction boxes.
