Abstract

1503511 Coating webs of different widths DRG PACKAGING Ltd 18 April 1975 [24 April 1974] 17995/74 Heading DIL In the coating of a web 20 through pores 10 in a member, the pores 10 are selectively closable by a deckle rod 14 slidable within a bore 8 attached to the wall 4 of the coating liq. reservoir 3 so that webs of different width can be coated. The rod 14 is provided with a silicone rubber insert 18 in order to urge the rod against the wall of the bore 8. The web is supported on an air-supported belt 22, air being supplied from apertures (27) [Fig. 1 (not shown)] in box (26) which can also be masked by a strip (28) according to the web width. The web 20 is doctored by a blade 32.
