Abstract

1302596 Stamping M NAKAMURA 12 March 1970 12001/70 Heading B3Q A bulging die 1, Fig. 2, comprises two halves forming a moulding cavity 2 and having a tapered portion over part of their exteriors on which is fitted a tapered hollow 11 movable in the axial direction of the die to hold it closed as shown and an inlet 4 for hydraulic fluid from a chamber 5; a tube 3 is fitted into the die and the upper half, pivoted at 10, is closed on it, one end of the tube being gripped by a presser 35 and the other by a plunger 22 such that the gripping is enhanced by the pressurized hydraulic fluid. Fluid is admitted to the tube by means of cock 42 and pipe 41 and air is bled from the tube by pipe 39 and a cock (40), Fig. 1 (not shown). When full of fluid both cocks are closed and pressure is exerted by a ram (not shown) on piston 6. The hollow 11 and plug 22 are moved into engagement with the die by an hydraulic piston cylinder assembly (16) and the hollow is supported by wheels 45 on rails 43.
