1395674 Washing machines PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN NV 23 May 1973 [26 May 1972] 24618/73 Heading D1A In a front loading washing machine the axes of a drum 6 and of a tub within which the drum is rotatable converge at a point O at the front of the machine to provide adequate space for a heating element 8 without requiring a large volume between the tub and drum. As shown the cylindrical front part 12 of the tub has a central aperture 3 concentric with the drum opening 7. The rear part is a pressing with a conical wall 11 and a flange 9 which is secured to a corresponding flange 10 of the front part by a hoop.
