Abstract

1390087 Platform elevators OEHLER WYHLEN-LAGERTECHNIK AG 5 July 1972 [14 July 1971] 31329/72 Heading B8H A load raising and lowering device comprises a load carrying platform 1 to whose side walls 2, 3 chains 7, 4 are respectively attached, the upper end of the chain 7 being attached at a point 11 directly to the side wall 2 while a spring 12 connects the other end of the chain 7 to the wall 2, the chain 4 being connected to the side wall 3 in a similar manner. The chains 4, 7 run about upper and lower sprockets 5, 8 and 6, 9 as shown, the lower sprockets 6, 9 being connected to a drive shaft 13. The spring constant of each of the springs 12 is approximately equal to the spring constant of each of the chains 4, 7 which are both placed under initial tension by the springs. When the chains 4, 7 are subjected to a given force the length of the two springs 12 changes by the same amount as does the length of the two similarly stressed chains 4, 7 and it is stated this serves to suppress oscillations of the chains.
