Abstract

1389710 Vehicle loading platform elevator W WEBER 2 Nov 1972 [15 Nov 1971] 50497/72 Heading B8E A lorry I has a loading platform elevator 9 mounted on a crossbeam 3 by a parallel linkage 8, 17, 15, 19 and moved between the ground and the lorry load platform by hydraulic lifting actuators 13. The platform is pivotable about the linkage between a vertical closing position for the lorry and a horizontal position by an actuator 20. Means are provided so that after lowering to the ground in a horizontal position the platform is caused to adopt an inclined position to assist in its loading. As described a pin 22 contacts the ground and actuates a switch 21 which controls a solenoid which actuates a valve in an hydraulic circuit to allow the platform to fall under gravity. Initiation of a raising movement automatically returns the platform to the horizontal before it is raised.
