Abstract
1421552 Vehicle loading platform A J VAN GEMERT 27 Dec 1972 60092/72 Heading B8E A large loading platform 1 for a cattle or like truck is carried by an arm 2 pivoted at 3 to a carriage 4 vertically movable in guide posts 6 by a piston cylinder device 14 acting through a chain 9 and can be connected to the truck frame by a toggle lever 22 the movable arm 23 of which can hook over a pin 26 so that the movement of the carriage 4 pivots the platform to and from a vertical truck closing position Fig. 3. In the lowered position I, Fig. 1, the arm 23 can be swung to the dotted position so that as the carriage 4 rises the toggle 22 is reversed, the hook 25 engages the pin 26 and the platform 1 is swung up on further movement of the carriage. In the uppermost vertical position a locking pin 27 passes beyond a fixed recess 28 so that subsequent slight lowering locks the platform in a vertical position. For subsequent lowering the pin 27 can be withdrawn by a cam disc 30. The platform is retained horizontal by support chains which can be released while in a slack state so that on the platform 1 reaching position I it can incline downwards to form a ground engaging loading ramp.
