Abstract
1388495 Two-part couplings SIEMENS AG 8 Sept 1972 [22 Sept 1971] 41682/72 Heading H2E The contact springs 1, 2 of a socket remain shorted together at points 4, 5 during insertion of tongues 12, 13 of a mating plug (9, Figs. 6 and 7, not shown). The springs 1, 2 separate only after they have made firm contact with respective metallic coatings 15 on the tongues 12, 13. The springs 1, 2 are pre-stressed and the tongues 12, 13 are flexible, so that even if the plug is inserted at an angle (Fig. 5) the correct makebefore-break action is obtained. The socket 1, 2 3 is part of a distributer in a telephone exchang, and the coatings 15 are connected to a test unite.
