Abstract

1383330 Cooking brewers' wort S BRIGGS & CO Ltd 4 May 1972 [29 June 1971] 30425/71 Heading C6E Wort is cooked by circulating it from a copper 1 up through one or more steam-heated calandrias 7. The returning wort flows through an openended tube 21, thereby drawing in with it unheated wort from the body of liquid in the copper, and is distributed over the liquid surface by a spreader 18 adjustable for height. The apparatus includes jets 23 for the supply of detergent liquid.
