Abstract

1379060 Boots &c WHITE-KNIGHT PRODUCTS Ltd 8 May 1973 [18 May 1972] 23303/72 Heading A3B A studded boot or shoe, e.g. a football boot, is provided with a moulded sole 10 having on its under surface a plurality of raised portions 11 each of which has at least one tapped recess 17 therein, said raised portions 11 and recesses 17 being moulded integrally with the sole 10. As described each recess 17 is tapped with a buttress thread and a stud 12 provided with a correspondingly threaded portion 18 is screwed into each recess 17. The stud 12 is provided with recesses 19 which provide grip for a tool used in screwing and unscrewing the studs. The sole 10 may have six raised portions 11 each having a single recess 17 or may have three raised portions extending across the width of the sole, each of which has a pair of recesses 17. The under surface of the sole may also be provided with four recessed, ribbed areas (not shown).
