Abstract

1376988 Underwinding crown for waste bunches MASCHINENFABRIK RIETER AG 27 April 1972 [29 April 1971] 19616/72 Heading DID An underwinding crown for receiving a waste bunch on a spindle comprises an upper limiting ring 15 with depending resilient fingers 8. A member on the spindle serves to spread the fingers whose lower extremity enters a recess in a lower limiting ring 3. The crown is retained by snap fastening engagement with a flange 11 on a spindle member. The fingers 8 are spread by a conical member 2, a cylindrical member (31) with a flared base, Fig. 4 (not shown) or a ring (55), Fig. 5 (not shown). The snap fastener flange 11 may be integral with the spreader or on a separate member (51), Fig. 5 (not shown). The lower limiting ring may be a separate member 3 or integral with the top of the driving wharve. The upper limiting ring 15 has thread engaging recesses 16 and the whole underwinding crown is suitably made in resilient plastics material. A bobbin tube 20 pushes over a tapered member on the spindle and serves to trap the yarn end. Ratios of diameters are given for critical parts.
