Abstract
1,184,362. Winding threads. FARBWERKE HOECHST A.G. 17 May, 1967 [17 May, 1966], No. 22958/67. Heading D1J. To thread a yarn into the slit of a slit drum or a reciprocating thread guide 1 in a winding machine wherein the yarn is supplied at a greater rate than the peripheral speed of the bobbin 3, the bobbin has a coaxial catch ring 6 of larger diameter than the bobbin so that when, on starting winding, the yarn is fed to the catch ring its rate of take-up is temporarily increased and the resultant increase in tension causes the yarn to enter the slit or guide.
