Abstract

1371040 Tyre chains EISEN-UND DRAHTWERK ERLAU AG 22 Nov 1971 [25 Nov 1970] 54076/71 Heading B7C [Also in Division F2] A connecting link for an anti-skid tyre chain comprises an opening 6 for adjacent links insertable through a gap in the link body, which gap is closed by a member 7, insertable normal to the links after the adjacent links have been inserted and having tongues 10 with rounded corners engaging mating recesses 8 in the ends of the link body defining the gap. The tongues 10 may have a dovetail cross-section extending normal to the link. The wall 2 of the body may be wider at its centre than at its ends, giving a truncated diamond shaped surface for contacting the road. To retain the member 9 a "swiss-roll" pin may be inserted into aligned holes (shown vertical and central in Fig. 1) in the member and the wall 2.
