Abstract

1452358 Chain couplings EISEN-UND DRAHTWERK ERLAU AG 7 June 1974 [7 June 1973] 25404/74 Heading F2Q A shackle comprises a U-shaped body 2, having legs 9, 10, and a shackle pin 14 which carries in the space between the legs an insert 3 which defines with the pin 4 an eye 34 for a chain link and defines with the shackle body a larger eye 32 for a chain of larger section. The insert 3 is secured in position by a pin 5. In a modification, lateral keying protuberances 38 and recesses 37 are provided on the insert and shackle body respectively. In a further modification, longitudinal protuberances and recesses are provided.
