Abstract
1369694 Cams TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L M ERICSSON 1 Dec 1971 [30 Dec 1970] 55850/71 Heading F2K [Also in Division H1] A cross-bar switch has contacts at each cross point operated by a cam follower 4 which is mounted on a spring 5 on the movable setting bar (a y-bar) 2 arranged so that if either the crossing (x) bar 1 or the y-bar 2 is moved, the follower 4 is approached by or approaches a cam surface 11 on the bar 1 and on subsequent movement of the other bar 2 or 1 the follower 4 moves up the cam surface to close contacts 6, 7. If the bar 2 is then reset, the end of the spring 5 engages a latch spring (12) (Fig. 4a, not shown) and the contacts 6, 7 are held closed until the bar 2 is operated again. Bars X1 to X4 are moved by a group A of respective electromagnets and bars X5 to X8 are moved by magnets in group C to move in opposite directions to the other X bars. Bars Y1 to Y4 and Y5 to Y8 have groups of operating magnets BXD respectively and also move in opposite directions.
