Abstract

1369218 Shop fittings etc G K N SANKEY Ltd 20 June 1972 [19 Aug 1971] 38918/71 Heading A4T [Also in Division B1] A beverage mixing aerating and dispensing machine has a pre-mixing bowl (11) Fig.1 (not shown) in which solid and liquid are mixed and discharged with a swirling motion into an inlet 13 of a mixing chamber 23 so shaped that liquid flows over the whole inner surface thereof. An agitator 22, whips and aerates the beverage. As shown the chamber 23 is a slightly inclined cylinder (12) with an end closure plate 31 and is frictionally retained on a spigot 15 by an O-ring seal 27, but it may consist of two frusto-cones with a common base and their apices constituting the inlet and outlet respectively. In operation water is supplied; dry material added; the agitator rotated at e.g. 8, 000 rev/min; and the drink completed with liquid, thus purging the chamber and agitator. The latter is a close fit to the chamber walls except in the region of a groove 40 which prevents retention of material between the agitator and wall by capillary attraction.
