1366642 Treating cotton NETHERLANDS APPLIED SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH FOR INDUSTRY TRADE AND COMMERCE 16 Feb 1972 [19 Feb 1971] 4982/71 Heading D1P Cotton fibres, rovings or slivers are given increased tensile strength by swelling with aqueous 12-24% alkali without tension, stretching the cotton to 95-115% of its original length before swelling, and while maintaining the cotton stretched, rinsing or neutralising and rinsing and drying at a temperature in excess of 70‹C. The treated fabric may be finished with dimethylolhydroxyethyleneurea and cured at 150‹C.
