Abstract

1349533 Dynamo-electric machines REGIE NATIONALE DES USINES RENAULT and AUTOMOBILES PEUGEOT 13 May 1971 [14 May 1970] 14803/71 Heading H2A An internal combustion engine has an induction type electric starter motor including a generally discoidal rotor coupled to the engine crank-shaft without the use of any intermediate gears, clutch or the like, and a stator yoke disposed straddlewise around at least a portion of the rotor periphery, the yoke carrying a field winding supplied with 2 phase A.C. The rotor 2 of the starter motor may be mounted on the engine flywheel 7, as shown, or on the crankshaft at the other end of the engine 6, Fig. 4 (not shown). There may be several part annular stator pulses spaced apart round the rotor periphery, Fig. 6 (not shown).
