Abstract

1345983 Plastics cup CREST INTERNATIONAL Inc 20 Jan 1972 [20 Jan 1971] 2811/72 Heading A4A An integrally-formed cup of foamed synthetic plastics such as polystyrene comprises an internally and externally tapered side wall in which the included angle of its inner surface 20 with respect to the vertical is greater than that of its outer surface 22. An inwardly thickened portion 26 adjacent the base 18 of the cup provides a shoulder 24 on which the base 18 of a second cup may rest. The diameter 30 of the base 18 is equal to or less than the diameter 32 of the inner surface of the side wall where it joins the shoulder 24 and thus a space will exist between the side walls of two nested cups allowing easy disengagement of a cup from a stacked set.
