Abstract

1340100 Cigarettes, cigars &c BRITISHAMERICAN TOBACCO CO Ltd 19 April 1972 [18 May 1971] 15580/71 Heading A2C A smoking article, such as a cigarette, cigar or pipe charge, has a filling which includes a first portion of shredded natural tobacco and a second portion of reconstituted tobacco, tobacco substitute and/or non-combustible filler, the said portions adjoining each other at a surface inclined in relation to the axis of the article, the said first portion being disposed, predominantly, remotely from the end of the article which is to be nearer to the smoker's mouth. The two portions may be wedge shaped and adjoin each other at an inclined plane, or one portion may be a core of conical or frusto-conical shape which is surrounded by the other portion. One or both portions may extend continuously throughout the length of the article. Second portion filling materials exemplified are a commercial synthetic smoking material, a reconstituted tobacco containing a chalk filler, and a non-combustible filler containing calcium carbonate, carboxymethyl cellulose, glycerol and tobacco extract.
