Abstract
1,239,114. Gas analysis. HARTMANN & BRAUN A.G. Dec.15, 1969 [Dec.17, 1968], No.60930/69. Heading G1B. A gas sampling tube 1 for the continuous withdrawal of a gas for analysis comprises an actuator 8 for reciprocating a holder 5 fitted with two filter elements 6, 7 whereby the filter elements 6, 7 may be automatically interchanged in the gas flow to the analyzer. The holder 5 is mounted in a casing 2 having a part 2<SP>1</SP> which is moved out of engagement with the casing 2 by an actuator 9 when the filter elements are being interchanged, the element in use being passed between the end 3 of the tube 1 and an outlet 4 leading to the analyzer. Openings 10, 11 and 12, 13 are provided to enable the filter element not in use to be cleaned. In alternative arrangements the filter elements are mounted on a holder operable by a rotary motion to interchange the elements, and more than two filter elements may be provided, if desired.
