Abstract
1,236,550. Electro-mechanical transducers. TIBBETTS INDUSTRIES Inc. 13 May, 1968 [16 May, 1967], No. 4308/71. Divided out of 1,234,274. Heading H4J. In a transducer comprising two magnets 72, 73, a coil 68 and an armature 63 having a portion 67 extending through the coil 68 into a working gap 70, a sleeve 60 of high magnetic permeability material magnetically couples the magnets 72, 73. A perforation 62 through the wall of the sleeve 60 is substantially closed by a portion 64 of the armature 63. The sleeve 60 and armature portion 64 substantially surround the coil 68, magnets 72, 73 and armature portion 67. End closures 77, 83 are preferably of high permeability magnetic material.
