Abstract

1,230,097. Pressure-sensitive adhesive laminates. EVOMASTICS Ltd. 12 July, 1968 [18 July, 1967], No. 32994/67. Heading B5N. A laminate comprising a flexible plastics substrate coated with a pressure-sensitive adhesive bituminous composition, the exposed surface of which is covered with a strippable layer, includes a mesh or a woven or non-woven fabric bonded to or embedded in the substrate to reduce the extensibility of the substrate. Preferably, the substrate comprises a p.v.c. sheet, in which is embedded a polyester fibre open-mesh fabric. The laminate may be in strip form and may be used for marking roads or floors. The substrate may be coloured. The reinforcing mesh may be of metal wires or plastics filaments. The bituminous adhesive composition may be as disclosed in Specification 1,095,393 and may also include natural or synthetic rubber, a wax, finely-divided silica and a pigment.
