Abstract

1,228,609. Closures; nestable containers. P. BINDSCHEDLER. 27 Nov., 1968 [1 Dec., 1967], No. 56341/68. Addition to 1,157,230. Headings B8C, B8D and B8T. In a modification of the metal container and crown-type closure cap therefor disclosed and claimed in Specification 1,157,230, the said container has a pressed body comprising, between an outwardly rolled, rounded rim 1a and a frusto-conical main side wall portion 2a, a substantially cylindrical side wall portion 3a which joins the main side wall portion 2a via rounded transition parts 4a, 5a, so that, on stacking, the transition parts 4a, 5a of one container abut the rim 1b of an adjacent container with substantial alignment of their respective cylindrical portions 3a, 3b. The frusto-conical portions 2a, 2b may be closely located but not in wedging engagement, the angle between these portions and the cylindrical portions being about 5 degrees, the height b of the cylindrical portions being 5 mm. and the radius of curvature of the transition ports being 0.75mm.
