Abstract

1376603 Nestable containers DRG PACKAGING Ltd 24 Feb 1972 [8 March 1971] 6299/71 Heading B8D A nestable container thermoformed of thermoplastics sheet comprises a body 2 having an outwardly-extending rim flange 6 in which is formed a plurality of downwardly-extending, substantially vertically-sided depressions 12 to prevent jamming of two nested containers. The sides of the depressions may diverge slightly, up to 3 degrees, away from a perpendicular to the flange and merge with the bottoms 14 of the depressions at curved corners 16 adapted to seat in the mouths of depressions in the underlying container. A secondary depression 18 is formed in one of the depressions to facilitate correct orientation of the bodies which are of non- symmetrical, e.g. spiral, configuration. A further depression 7, Fig. 1 (not shown), is formed in the flange to facilitate removal of a lid subsequently fitted to the container.
