Abstract
1,228,012. Caps for containers; closuring containers. M. SAKURAI. 25 June, 1968, No. 30120/68. Headings B8C and B8T. A closure for a container and over which a cap (8), Fig. 7 (not shown), may be applied comprises a heat-shrinkable cylindrical wall 2, the upper part of which is lapped over a non-heatshrinkable disc 4. The members 2 and 4 are first heat-sealed to one another round a former (20), Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown). The closure so formed is then applied to the neck of a container and heat-shrunk tightly on to the neck. A tab 7 is provided in the wall 2 for removal of the closure. The disc 4 may be transparent and/or perforated to allow the user to see or smell the contents of the container; or it may be laminated, both the wall 2 and the upper member (B), Fig. 10 (not shown), of the disc being of PVC so that they become fused by high-frequency sealing. A disc of foam rubber may be adhesively secured within the laminate, Fig. 11 (not shown).
