Abstract

1,225,625. Liquid containers. GRUNDY (TEDDINGTON) Ltd. 26 June, 1968 [26 June, 1967], No. 29298/67. Heading B8D. A liquid container comprises a hollow metal body 10 with end walls and an outer jacket 11 of a synthetic plastics material having a ring extending at each end beyond the end wall of the hollow body to form a rolling ring or chime 13. The jacket may be formed in two parts 11, 11a which can be extruded over the metal body. The two parts may be welded together at their inner abutting ends and each have a thickened circumferential part 12 constituting a rolling ring. The rings 13 may seat on the end wall of the hollow body, one of them serving to protect a bung hole 14 of the hollow body. The jacket may be in more than two parts and have hand-hold apertures and drain holes may be incorporated in the hollow body. Jackets may be made in different colours. The hollow body may be made of stainless steel or an aluminium alloy.
