Abstract

1,222,293. Printing apparatus. LA CELLOPHANE. 13 March, 1969 [12 April, 1968], No. 13411/69. Heading B6C. [Also in Division H1] A document duplicating machine has one or more switch assemblies disposed in the path of movement of a paper feed, each switch assembly comprising a contact 1 in the form of a ball or roller mounted in a resilient, conducting strip 2 and a contact 3 in the form of a conducting surface against which the ball or roller normally is resiliently urged by strip 2. The switch is operated by sheets of paper 6, guided by guide 7, coming between the contacts 1 and 3. The switch operates various transistor circuits, Figs. 2-5 (not shown). Strip 2 is composed of three strips 2A, 2B, 2C clamped by screws 9 to a terminal A. The force with which contact 1 is urged against contact 3 may be adjusted by rotating terminal 4 about pivot 8, terminal 4 being locked in position by screw 10. The switch can be used for example to control electromagnetic clutches and brakes in the duplicating machine.
