Abstract
1,221,644. Razor blade dispensers. WILKINSON SWORD Ltd. 14 June, 1968 [20 June, 1967], No. 28288/67. Heading B8P. A razor blade dispenser comprises a moulded plastics &c. base 11 and a metal &c. lid 12 secured together by the engagement of projections 11h on the former with apertures 12f on the latter. A stack of blades 10 is supported on inclined ribs 11a. A tongue 11b is rendered flexible by a V-shaped slot 11c and may engage the inner surface of the lid 12. The uppermost blade is dispensed by the insertion of a thumb through a rectangular aperture (12a), Fig. 5 (not shown), in the lid 12, whereupon the leading edge of the blade slides up the more steeply inclined end portions 11e of the ribs 11a and a similar rib 11f and through a slot (12b), Fig. 6 (not shown), in the lid 12. The tongue 11b deflects downwardly to allow passage of the trailing end of the blade. Used blades are inserted into a compartment through a slot 11g, guided by ribs 11d and positioned by a forked tongue 12e. The lid 12 has a transverse strengthening rib 12c and the sides of the aperture (12a) parallel to the sides of the dispenser have flanges 12d which engage the stack.
