Abstract
1,234,077. Razor blade dispensers. WARNER - LAMBERT PHARMACEUTICAL CO. 23 May, 1968 [23 May, 1967], No. 24660/68. Heading B8P. A plastics &c. razor blade dispenser comprises a sleeve A into which a blade carrier B is inserted. The carrier B, Fig. 7, consists of a platform 3 having two enlarged end portions 4, 5 the first of which abuts end edges of the sleeve A and the second of which has spaced apart lugs 7a defining with the top wall of sleeve A a blade exit slot 8 normally closed by a cross-bar 18 connecting two resilient tongues 11a. A guide rib 13 on a resilient tongue 12 enters slots D in a pile of blades and in combination with lugs 14 holds the pile in position. The uppermost blade in the pile is pushed forward by insertion of the thumb through an opening 17 in the sleeve A. Downward deflection of the tongue 12 as the uppermost blade advances permits the latter to slide over the rib 13. As the leading edge of the blade is slid up the surface 19 on the crossbar 18 towards the exit slot 8, the cross-bar is deflected downwardly to permit the blade to pass through the slot. The carrier B latches into the sleeve A and the latter has an opening (23), Fig. 3 (not shown), into a compartment for used blades. The carrier B can be released from the sleeve and reloaded.
