Abstract
1,221,173. Reservoir pens. PARKER PEN CO. 16 Jan., 1969 [18 Jan., 1968], No. 2596/69. Heading B6Q. A solid rod-like nib is formed of synthetic plastics material comprising a mixture of between 5 and 50% by volume of a polyacetal resin or a polytetrafluoroethylene resin, the remainder being either nylon or polyacetal resin. The wettability of nibs formed mainly with polyacetal resin can be enhanced by surface etching and satinizing. Fig. 2 shows a nib in which the bottoms of longitudinal capillary feed slots 46 taper outwardly in a direction away from the writing end of the nib. In (Fig. 5), longitudinal capillary slots extend the full length of the nib and a circumferential capillary equalizer groove is disposed intermediate the ends.
