Abstract

1,217,318. Fuel injection pumps. C.A.V. Ltd. Aug.30, 1968 [Sept.25, 1967], No.43491/67. Heading F1A. [Also in Division F2] In a fuel injection pump of the "spill port" type, a tappet 27, having a roller 28 engaging a cam 29, has flank portions 30 that may engage each side respectively of the cam to prevent angular movement of the tappet. The flank portions are such that they rest on the camshaft at the bottom dead centre position so as to raise the tappet clear of the cam to facilitate lubrication, Fig. 1 (not shown).
