Abstract

1474962 Fuel injection pumps M G FIEDLER 30 April 1974 [30 April 1973] 48058/76 Divided out of 1474961 Heading F1A A fuel injection pump comprises a plunger 56 slidable in a bore 56A and urged by a spring into 55 contact with one side of an angularly adjustable cam follower 57 mounted on a shaft 67, the follower 67 being arranged to pivot with the shaft 67 to cause a pumping stroke of the plunger 56 when a roller 63A mounted between flanges on a crankshaft 40 engages its other side. The shaft 67 connects the follower 57 to a member 60 which rests on a pin 62, the position of the pin 62 being adjustable to determine its starting position and thus the stroke length of the plunger. In a second embodiment, Fig. 4 (not shown) three equi-angularly spaced rollers (91A, 91B, 91C) co-operate with three followers (90A, 90B, 90C) each of which drives a pair of separate plungers.
