A food storage cabinet 1 comprises doubleskinned side, back and top walls defining interconnecting cavities which are at least partially filled with a plastics or rubber open-celled sponge material 2 the outer skins of the walls being cut away or perforated to expose the sponge material and to allow evaporation of water therefrom to cool the cabinet. The sponge material consists of polyurethane foam, rubber latex, expanded vinyl or cellulose of the viscose or acetate type. The cabinet is made of plastics or plastics with an enamelled aluminium outer casing, and the door is lined with expanded polystyrene.
