[Also in Division F4] A louvre shield of metal or other rigid material which may be secured to or made integral with a sliding window frame comprises an elongated tubular structure formed of two interengaging channel section parts la, 1b each having one leg formed with a recess R and the other leg being a mating fit in the recess R of the other part, the oppositely facing major faces of the structure being formed with a plurality of louvres 2 so disposed that air may pass across the structure via the louvres in an indirect path to provide a ventilation path and a weather shield. The louvres may be fixed and adjustable as to the degree of opening and the louvres on one major face may be staggered with respect to the louvres on the other major face, and they may be formed by slitting the 'faces and deforming the material.
