Abstract

1,209,828. Looms; tensioning warps. SULZER BROS. Ltd. 15 March, 1968 [15 March, 1967], No. 12784/68. Heading D1E. For tensioning the warp threads a transverse rod 29 is reciprocated vertically by shaft 42 which is oscillated by cams 53-4 via a follower lever (49 fig. 4 not shown) and an adjustable connection allowing the threads to be tensioned by a predetermined extent. The warps are divided into two sheets by the rod and each is tensioned in alternate cycles at the closed shed position when the rod is at its highest or lowest. The hub of lever 49 is journalled on end 44 of the shaft 42 and has a flange (56) which engages flanges (57, 57') on hubs (46, 46') adjustably secured to the shaft. The initial spacing of flanges 57, 57' from flange 56 determine extent of movement of rod 29. The flanges may be so spaced that shaft 42 is rotated in one direction only, thereby tensioning one sheet only.
