Abstract

1,208,133. Rolling bearings. ROTAX Ltd. 20 Feb., 1968 [9 March, 1967], No. 11153/67. Heading F2A. [Also in Division H2] In a bearing assembly for a rotary shaft 12, comprising two rolling thrust bearings 14 and 17, an annular piston 19 bears against the outer race of one of the bearings which is axially slidable relative to its support, and fluid is supplied under pressure to the piston to load the race thereby loading the bearings. Lubricant may be supplied to the bearings via passage 22 and surplus oil escapes via outlet 23.
